1. How the Extension Works

Gov-Flip is a client-side Chrome extension that reads the content of GovDeals.com auction pages you are actively viewing. It does not run in the background or access pages you are not looking at.

2. Data Accessed

The Extension accesses the following data to provide its functionality:

  • Auction Page Content: When you activate the extension on a GovDeals listing, we read the title, description, and images from that page.
  • Image Data: Listing images are sent to the Google Gemini API for analysis to extract model numbers and product details.

3. Data Usage

We use the accessed data exclusively to provide the core functionality of the Extension:

  • To identify item details and model numbers from auction listings.
  • To fetch comparable eBay sold prices and calculate profit estimates.

4. Third-Party Services

Gov-Flip uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini API: Used for image analysis to extract model numbers from listing photos. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored by our service.
  • eBay Data: We query eBay sold listing data through a proxy service to provide price comparisons.

5. Data Storage & Protection

We do not store auction data, your browsing history, or any personally identifiable information on our servers. All data processing happens in real-time to display profit estimates. The data passes through our service momentarily but is not retained after the request is complete.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing or any purpose other than providing the core functionality of the extension as described above.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Since we do not store your data, we do not have a retention period. If you believe any data associated with your usage exists and want to request its deletion, please contact us at the email below.
